Evaluation Q2: How does you media product represent particular social groups

Article
I chose to write my article in question and answer form because I thought it would be much easier for the audience to read, plus they would find it more interesting because they are getting the information directly from the band/artists therefore they feel like they’re getting an exclusive. I chose to talk about topics that young people can relate to for example relationships.
I mentioned ‘Twitter’ as I know that young people spending the free time on social networking site therefore this might interest them.
I tried to make my article humorous because the stereotypical view of teenagers is that they like to have fun and not be serious. I made the humor relatable to young people by mentioning ‘mum’.
Example of humor used
There’s been a lot of rumours being spread about you is any of it true?
Ro: last night at 5:00 am I got a call of my mum who was frantic over the phone shouting “are you alright, I’ve just heard about the car accident” and am there thinking what the hell you on women, then my twitter informed me that there was a rumour going round saying am in hospital after a car accident which made me laugh and my mum very angry. I honestly don’t know where the f*ck it came from but I don’t mind most rumours they make my life seem much more exciting then it really is.
I also know that young people like reading about gossip so I tried to incorporate some into my article.
Example of gossip used
So, Charlie are you getting married this summer or is that also a lie?
Charlie: (with his hands covering his face) Well because I love this magazine so much am willing to give you an exclusive here it goes (bangs a drumming beat on the table) YES AM GETTING MARRIED THIS SUMMER! That is one of the few rumour that is in fact true

Feedback

Rovena I am happy with the excellent progress you have made so far with both your research and planning work and your production. You should now aim to continue adding a running commentary of production work in progress complete with screen shots.
With regards to your front cover there is little that needs to be improved upon. You may want to consider airbrushing your group a touch in order to create a front page that looks even more professional.

Rejected Photos

I firstly wanted to use these people for my band however I decided to have another shoot as i thought the photos could have been better.

I decided to do a second shoot because first time round I didn't use a range of camera angles, I only used long shots. The poses were varied however they were not as powerful. The other reason why i couldn't use these photo's is because for one of the models the lights reflected from his glasses, which didn't make the photos look as professional. I also felt that the male models didn't fit in as well with the rock genre as the female did, so when shooting the second time I replaced the two male models.

Well done Rovena you are up to date with the research and planning tasks. Please embed your drafting work e.g. double page spread draft as an upload (or use slide share) as opposed to using web links. It takes a while to open each link and the idea behind the Blog is to have a working online log that is easily accessible.
